Johnny Depp : Pirates of the Caribbean 5 to start filming this year. London: Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed that directors Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg will start shooting ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5′ before the end of this year.

Bruckheimer said that the Disney franchise is due to set sail once more in a few months’ time following the appointment of Norwegian directors Roenning and Sandberg.

“We hired two young directors who did a movie called ‘Kon-Tiki’. They came to Hollywood last week, they’re just starting up. We plan to start filming by the end of this year or the beginning of next year,” said Bruckheimer.

Gore Verbinski directed the first three films, while Chicago’s Rob Marshall directed the fourth film.

Penelope Cruz, who played Angelica Teach in 2011′s Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, may return for the fifth film after Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom left the franchise after the third movie in 2007.

Rolling Stone Keith Richards, who played Captain Jack’s father Captain Teague in the last two films, has previously said he’d love to return.

According to The Sun, Bruckheimer said of fans expectations: “We don’t know what they want. (If I did) I’d be a genius and every movie would be a hit, (but) it doesn’t work that way. We try to go by our gut and figure out what’s exciting; where haven’t we travelled in the past?”

He previously revealed as well as the paradise islands of the Antilles, the fifth film will also shoot in America’s deep South, for financial reasons.

Bruckheimer said: “We’re certainly going to be filming in Louisiana because of the tax breaks and I think there might be a sequence there. But it will also be set in the Caribbean, obviously.”
