Challenge Talbot : Thibodaux teen dies after falling from Orange Beach balcony. Police in Orange Beach are investigating after an 18-year-old was found dead Friday. They say the teenager, Challenge Talbot of Thibodaux, Louisiana, fell 16 stories off a balcony at Turquoise Place Condominiums and landed in a swimming pool. A local couple staying at Turquoise Place spotted Talbot’s body face down in the water around 3:45 a.m. They called 911, but paramedics were unable to revive him.
A couple walking up the condominium noticed Talbot’s body floating face down in the pool, and called police.
Talbot was a member of the E.D. White boys swim team, which won 2nd place at the state championship in November.
“It definitely means a lot to be up on the board. You know, the school keeps (athletic achievements) up on boards in the gym,” he said of the victory on Nov 29. “When I look up at that board, I can say that I was on that team and it means a lot,” Talbot said of the win at the time.
Talbot also expressed a desire to stay involved with the team after graduation.
“They might win it next year, and I am thinking about coming back as an assistant coach,” he said. “I think I can get a ring with these guys in the next few years.”
