Release Date Confirmed for February 22, 2019 - Anthem

The game has a singleplayer hub so that gamers can advance the story at their own pace, surrounded by a shared multiplayer world for everyone to shoot and jetpack their way through. Anthem doesn't quite look like the type of game where there's time for romance, after all.

Thanks to the folks at EA Games, there was no shortage of Star Wars gaming news at E3 this weekend. The game is set between episodes 3&4; an era where Jedi are hunted down and all but eradicated.

On top off this came the news that the game will include no loot boxes, no premium pass and all content updates will be free for everyone. That means players who wish to do so can play the entire game on their own.

In Anthem, you play a freelancer, which you can customize in one of four classes.

This will most certainly change the Alex Hunter story mode along with other career modes in the game. The Clone Wars will be coming to the game too, with iconic prequel-era characters like General Grievous, Count Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker finally making their way to Battlefront 2.

Continuing to invest in its EA Originals indie publishing initiative, EA revealed a striking-looking new indie game. The suits will all be heavily customisable, and a variety of vanity and cosmetic items will be available as microtransactions, and players can choose which Javelins they feel like piloting. Did the striking Sea of Solitude take your fancy? While the specifics of the gameplay have yet to be ironed out, it looks to be a sea-based game telling an emotional story about how loneliness can turn people into monsters. The highly anticipated action-RPG will arrive on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on February 22, 2019. Unlike Destiny's Tower, a social space that always brims with players dancing around and/or ignoring each other, you'll have this little part of the world to yourself (aside from the NPCs, obviously). More's the pity. Citadel was ace, though, so if there's a breath of that sort of camaraderie in Anthem we might get to enjoy some of that BioWare magic after all.

PvP - Anthem will not include player versus player multiplayer at launch, but they may add it later.
