Next year, Apple will open up this capability to its developers. Four Apple-built iOS apps - Home, Apple News, Stocks, Voice Memos - will now work on Mac computers, the company said.

During WWDC, a whole new Mac App Store was introduced with a new look and new features including a discover tab that can also be seen on the iPhone/iPad App Store.

Apple will roll out macOS Mojave to its MacBook line of devices this fall along with iOS 12. The Dark Mode feature ties in with the Mojave name as Apple explained how the desert looks attractive at night, and so does Dark Mode in macOS.

The dark theme feature is complemented by the new "dynamic desktop", which will cause the wallpaper to change according to the time of day. That apart, dark mode will put the focus on user content while controls recede into the background. With macOS Mojave now coming with dark mode, hopefully we will such mode in more apps, websites, and probably even in stock Android. Apple TV will detect the user's broadband network and automatically sign them in to all the supported apps they receive through their subscription. Desktop Stacks can automatically stack files on your desktop into clean groups based on file type, date, or tags. Unlike a folder, files in Stacks are directly accessible and you can scrub through them.

Apple also said the new features will be made available later this month as part of the iOS 12 public beta, including Activity Reports, App Limits and new Do Not Disturb and Notifications controls created to help customers reduce interruptions and manage screen time for themselves and their families.

Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off today (June 4), with a keynote address that is taking place live now, and can be streamed here in Apple's Safari browser. Aside from new categories of featured apps and games, the shopfront will be getting Microsoft's Office 365 and Adobe's Lightroom CC. There is an enhanced Intelligent Tracking Prevention system to block social media buttons and comment widgets from tracking users. New data protections in Safari mean apps will need to get user permission before using the Mac camera and microphone. The new weekly activity summary will give users deeper insight into how they use their phones.
