National Basketball Association drops the ball by not suspending JR Smith

Jaylen Brown scored 23 points and Boston withstood a 42-point night by James to beat Cleveland 107-94 on Tuesday and take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

Horford's teammate Marcus Smart later called out Smith for his reputation. After the game, Smith said that he agreed with the initial flagrant foul call, which was followed by an expletive-laden chant from the Celtics' home crowd. Smith was accessed a Flagrant 1 foul, not an ejection, and received a technical foul along with Smart for the post-play scuffle. That's not the first time J.R. has done some dirty stuff, especially playing against us.

That means we can expect to see more chippiness between opposing players as they look to gain a psychological and physical advantage. "It's a matter for us to bounce back, go home, try and get (win) two, even the series up and come back here". "One of my guys was down, and I took offense to it".

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue accused Boston of "gooning it up", and the Celtics were OK with that assessment. "You've got to stand up and that's what I tried to do".

Smart plays basketball like he's trying out to be Bill Belichick's favorite special teams gunner.

UFC 224 Results: Amanda Nunes TKO Raquel Pennington
And the former victor of The Ultimate Fighter said the time was right for him to be given the next shot at UFC championship gold. Still, Pennington stuck in the pocket and started firing back with her punches whenever the champion would move forward.

He did manage four points in Game 1.

"I love it", Smith, who shot 0-for-7, said of the jeers.

Now that the Cavs know Smith won't be suspended, there's another question as to whether Smith will start in Game 3. Thompson got Cleveland's first basket of the night and helped to limit Horford's effectiveness on the inside early on.

Smith had a frightful game, recording zero points while going 0-for-7. Cleveland had 15 turnovers leading to 13 Boston points. "They made shots, we missed shots at the end of the day". "They got to. That gets them going, and they've got players that are gritty players that play hard".
