"The reconnaissance team returned to Damascus", OPCW said in a statement last week.

A list of suspected chemical attacks since 2012 have been released by a Syrian activist group documenting war crimes.

"Taking part in the news briefing will be the eyewitnesses of shooting of the footage that featured the fake pseudo-humanitarian action staged by the White Helmets and that provided grounds for the US/UK/French missile strikes at Syria on April 14", the press release said. "If they are used against us, we will act against them", Lieberman said.

Humam Husari describes it as a "desperate and cheap attempt by Russian TV to deny the obvious attack on Douma". With Russia's help, Assad is protecting his country against regime change by the United States and its allies, without needing to use chemical weapons. "It also collected samples at this site", the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said in a statement.

The OPCW's fact-finding mission visited Douma for the first time over the weekend, two weeks after the April 7 attack.

More than 40 people were killed in the suspected chemical weapons attack in the town.

Despite agreeing to the deal, inspectors have found evidence of an ongoing chemical weapons programme in the country, including systematic use of chlorine barrel bombs and sarin.

United Nations humanitarian chief Mark Lowcock says he expects donors to pledge 4.4 billion dollars in humanitarian aid for Syria and neighbors sheltering its refugees for 2018.

Europa League win would be perfect send-off for Wenger, says Mertesacker
Arsene Wenger jokes that the tributes to him after the decision to leave Arsenal feel like witnessing his own funeral. I'd be absolutely stunned and in fact that would be embarrassing if they didn't know who the next manager is.

Justin Bronk, an air combat expert at the Royal United Services Institute, said he doubted Russia's claims, and that the remarks were "probably just posturing in this case to try and embarrass the USA".

Lowcock thanked the EU, Germany and Britain for making large offers. The team did not say how long the inspections would take.

Responding to Russia's claims of U.S. missiles failing in the Syria strike and the capture of downed missiles, something the Pentagon has denied, Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon told Business Insider "both claims are completely and totally untrue".

The Syrian Archive, which works with human rights groups such as Amnesty International, said it has verified 861 videos covering some 212 attacks — majority believed to have been carried out by government forces.

On Wednesday, Russian Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi said Russia will supply Syria with "new missile defense systems soon".

On Monday, the Russian daily Kommersant reported that Moscow was getting closer to delivering its S-300 missile defense system to Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, despite Israel's efforts to prevent it. Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman responded by saying that if the powerful S-300 was used against Israeli jets, the system would be destroyed.

Rudskoi said earlier that Russian Federation was ready to review the possibility of providing the S-300 systems to Damascus following the air strikes carried out by the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
