HBO has released the first Sharp Objects trailer.
Set aside your daily lamenting about how long we have to wait before the second season of Big Little Lies, and turn your attention to Sharp Objects. The limited series looks SO INTENSE. The story revolves around a journalist named Camille Preaker (Adams), who returns to her Missouri hometown, Wind Gap, to investigate the twisted murders of two young girls. The return, as well as the crimes in question, are particularly hard for Camille who has a history of self-harm.
Pleasantville Students Participate in National Walkout for School Safety Day
Students believe they're spreading a message in hopes of cutting down gun violence happening in schools across the country. Rally organizers called for changes including bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
It opens with a young woman's voiceover saying: "Momma said she saw a ghost once".
The trailer doesn't give too much away, but it shows just enough to have you totally and completely invested. The trailer ends with someone whispering to Camille, "It's not safe for you here". You may already know that Flynn wrote Gone Girl, Dark Places and David Fincher's upcoming project, Utopia, but her next project has all the hallmarks of a modern classic. Jean-Marc Vallée, who also directed HBO's Big Little Lies, helms all eight episodes written by Flynn and Marti Noxon, who also serves as showrunner. "Are you?" From there, we get clips of Adams toying with a straight razor, sinister bathtubs, creepy doll houses, trapped tarantulas, and blood.
Patricia Clarkson plays Amy Adams' mother (PERFECT), and the supporting cast includes Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins, Matt Craven, Henry Czerny, Taylor John Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Madison Davenport.
