"Then I start the race, "ride-through penalty" appears on the dashboard, something that I didn't understand, because if one marshal says you are allowed, why then in a few laps say you are not allowed and you need to have a ride-through?" He dived up the inside of Rossi going into Turn 13, misjudged it and sat up, forcing Rossi onto the wet grass where he promptly slid off.

Marquez and Rossi have, in the past, shared a fractious relationship due to multiple on-track controversies and the two clashed yet again at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in Argentina on Thursday.

Then the pit board came out, showing a ride-through penalty for Marquez for starting from the grid; as he headed for the pits, Miller was being reeled in by Zarco, Alex Rins (Suzuki) and Crutchlow.

The race start was delayed for safety reasons amid farcical scenes, with rain before the event leaving all riders except Miller on wet weather tyres.

Last year's victor Maverick Vinales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) finished 0.067 ahead of his teammate Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), while Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) propelled himself into eighth right at the end of the day.

The party, however, doubted whether President Buhari's declaration was "the final revelation of the impending demise of APC". It has never happened but under Buhari N-Power it happened.

The Catalan would exit the pit lane in 20th place, with Miller back in the lead. After an nearly 20-minute delay to the start of the race due to safety concerns, and the race reduced to 24 laps, the grid was re-arranged leaving a 30m gap between the Aussie and the rest of the pack.

Marquez's misdeeds began with the race's mixed-up start. Luckily the bike runs and at that time I didn't know what I needed to do; I knew that if the bike was [not running] I need to go off [the grid], but the bike was running. Wth the win, Crutchlow also took the lead in the overall standings, taking a three-point lead over Andrea Dovizioso.

Up at the sharp end, Rins led briefly before he made a mistake, and then Miller had a moment, whereupon both Crutchlow and Zarco dived through, relegating Miller to fourth.

Rossi and his Yamaha team were furious with the Spaniard, who was handed a 30-second penalty for causing the crash.

The LCR Honda rider however, regained the lead on the penultimate lap with Zarco coming in hot and managed to take his career's third win, while denying Zarco his first ever. Tito Rabat finished seventh, ahead of Andrea Iannone and Hafizh Syahrin.

At the front, Cal Crutchlow would hold off Johann Zarco to take victory, his first of the season.
