Audi Confirms e-Tron GT As New 'Spearhead' Model

This Audi e-tron GT will be built on the same EV platform as the Porsche Mission E, called the J1 platform, something that Stadler claims significantly reduces cost. According to Alexander Seitz, Member of the Board of Management for Finance, IT and Integrity said that Audi has implemented measures to work on four new models and derivatives with an unchanged budget.

Separately, Audi sales chief Bram Schot said the luxury carmaker is targeting a share of electric-car sales of between 30 and 35 percent of its overall deliveries by 2025 when it plans to offer about 20 electrified cars on sale. At this year's Geneva, we saw the e-tron still wearing the camouflage.

To push deeper into electric cars, Audi will flank the E-Tron battery-powered SUV, which reaches dealers later this year priced starting at 80,000 euros in Germany, with an E-Tron Sportback coupe in 2019 and a four-door GT version as early as 2020. The latest competitor that will enter the fray is coming from a well-known luxury vehicle manufacturer: Audi.

"We interpret sportiness very progressively with our fully electric e-tron GT, and this is how we will take our high-performance brand Audi Sport into the future", says Stadler.

All electric – all Audi
All electric – all Audi

That suggests the future Audi e-tron GT may be low in volume but high in performance. Audi is working with Porsche on new vehicle architectures to accommodate new electric vehicles. Stadler said Audi plans a fifth electric auto that would either be an SUV or "sports activity vehicle". Audi Hungaria is ready to start production of the SUV's electric motor in Gyor, Hungary.

Last year, the brand managed to cut spending by 1 billion euros thanks to cuts in research and development, sales and other departments to help allot more funding for electric-car production.

What's not clear at the moment is how Audi intends to differentiate its EVs, plug-in hybrids and mild-hybrid models in terms of nomenclature.

WR Grant fails physical, Ravens eye Crabtree
However, with only $ 11 million guaranteed , it might give the Ravens an out in 2019 if Crabtree doesn't pan out this season. Crabtree spent the past three seasons in Oakland after spending his first six seasons in San Francisco with the 49ers.
