The bride-to-be was baptized into the Church of England on Tuesday evening in a ceremony conducted by Justin Welby the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Daily Mail reports.

USA actress Meghan Markle has been baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the spiritual head of the Church of England, ahead of her royal wedding in May to Britain's Prince Harry, the Daily Mail newspaper reported on Thursday.

In November 2017, Kensington Palace announced that Markle, an American Protestant and divorcee, would become a British citizen and be baptised and confirmed into the Church of England before her wedding to Prince Harry. As previously reported, this wasn't something Meghan was required to do as she prepares to Wednesday Harry but rather, it was a sign of respect to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who is head of the Church.

"I'm a huge fan of them - I'm from Canada so I had to come see them because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it was just awesome", said student Brandy Davis, 20, from Toronto who is studying at a nearby university.

Markle told her that she can achieve whatever she wants to achieve and that she looks forward to seeing her on TV.

Prince Harry and Markle visited Millennium Point, a multi-use complex that provides workspace for educational organizations.

The royal couple received a huge round of applause from the 90 female students as they made their way to their next event.

At 1 p.m. Harry and Meghan will embark on a carriage procession from St George's Chapel through Windsor Town returning to Windsor Castle along the Long Walk, which will offer some members of the public a glimpse of the newly married couple. It was recently revealed they had invited members of the public to their wedding day too.
