Winter Storm Impacting Travel, Canceling Flights in Northeast


Poor conditions at the airport over the past two days have caused hundreds of flight cancellations at the airport and the disruptions look set to continue in to tomorrow.

Dublin Airport is suspending all flights until Saturday morning.

"We apologise for the inconvenience that the adverse weather has caused to passengers".

"All affected customers have already been notified of their options by email and SMS text message and should avoid traveling to the airport".

British Airways have released a statement and said: "We are sorry that the weather is likely to lead to some delays and disruption to our schedules".

Both flights were lucky to not have been cancelled as dozens across the United Kingdom were halted due to snowy or icy conditions and high wind speeds.

Ryanair have said all flights to and from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports are cancelled today. "We recommend customers check the status of their flight at before making their way to the airport".

The risky flying conditions have also caused the popular budget airline easyJet to cancel further flights.

Hotels at the airport are booked out and many people, including staff, passengers who arrived early for departing flights and passengers who could not travel to their final destinations after arriving on flights into Cork, have been forced to spend the night at the airport.
