The Senators began making deals back in November when the sent Kyle Turris to Nashville for Matt Duchene in a three-team, multi-player transaction.

The Senators now have a possible seven picks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft (two first round choices - one top-10 protected - along with one fourth, one fifth, one sixth and two sevenths). Pittsburgh also acquired a pair of prospects - forward Vincent Dunn from Ottawa and forward Tobias Lindberg from Vegas - plus Ottawa's third-round pick this year. As part of the deal, Vegas is retaining 40 per cent of Brassard's salary this season.

The Penguins on Friday acquired forward Derick Brassard from the Senators, according to multiple reports.

Pittsburgh is trying to become the first team since the 1982-83 New York Islanders to win three straight Stanley Cups. Brassard will likely slot in as the Penguins third line center behind Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and give them another scoring option.
