Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that Uttar Pradesh can become the growth engine of the country and the Yogi Adityanath government in the state is building a new UP. Besides President Ram Nath Kovind, country's top industrialists, business delegates from 20 foreign countries and 200 CEOs, along with nearly 1/4th of the Modi Cabinet, will participate in the two-day mega event, convened to woo much-needed investment for development of Uttar Pradesh.
Prime minister Narendra Modi has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to compete with Maharashtra to become the first Indian state with a trillion-dollar economy.
"Hawai chappal pehne wala bhi, hawa mein udna chahiye, " PM Modi said.
He said the Union Government's schemes such as Skill India Mission, Stand Up India, Start Up India and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, will prove useful in implementing the "One District, One Product" scheme. Extend welcome to the Prime Minister. "Potential coupled with policy, planning, performance can lead to progress in the state", the PM said.
"Keeping in mind the development of Bundelkhand, the government has made a decision to extend the Uttar Pradesh's defense corridor to Agra, Allahabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Chitrakoot", Modi said.
According to the reports, Adani Group announced the investment of Rs. 35,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh in different sectors. "We will also open an IT-enabled services centre in Varanasi soon", Chandrasekaran said.
