Democrats defended election integrity until they lost, Trump says


"But the president has made no move to take on Russia since indictments Friday against 13 Russians that laid out in detail aspects of an alleged covert effort to sway the 2016 U.S. presidential election in Trump's favor".

Trump has repeatedly downplayed and doubted Russian meddling and its effects on the American political process in 2016 and beyond.

The full indictment, released on Friday, said that a Russian propaganda arm funded by the businessman, Evgeny Prigozhin, oversaw a criminal and espionage conspiracy to tamper in the 2016 USA presidential campaign to support Donald Trump and disparage Hillary Clinton.

"I have been much tougher on Russian Federation than Obama, just look at the facts", Trump wrote on Twitter. "These actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated".

Trump said he's tougher on Russian Federation than Obama was - despite the fact that the latter imposed strong sanctions on the Kremlin while he was still in office.

Obama added that "there's no evidence that that has happened in the past, or that there are instances in which that will happen this time".

The Californian Congressman said it was clear that the then-presidential candidate Trump was aware of Russia's hacking and dumping of documents because the intelligence community had said in October 2016 it was being carried out at Putin's behest.

Speaking on this incident, Congress MLA NA Haris said, "Whoever does wrong is wrong, be it the son of an MLA or anyone else". After the incident, Haris had claimed that his6 son was hiding somewhere without his knowledge.

The "Fox and Friends" segment Trump referenced also quoted similar remarks from the former president. Trump tweeted, going on to assert: "I have been much tougher on Russian Federation than Obama, just look at the facts".

Twitter chose to deal with the effects of Russian meddling by deleting the tweets from Russian troll accounts.

The attack on Obama was the latest in a series of presidential tweets reacting to a grand jury indictment handed up Friday against 16 Russian nationals entities accused of using social media to meddle in the presidential election.

On Monday, after a weekend filled with tweets about the Mueller indictments, Trump falsely suggested Obama didn't "do something" about Russian meddling.

Obama and European Union nations imposed harsh sanctions targeting senior Russian officials and businessmen connected to Russian president Vladimir Putin over its military intervention in Ukraine. An interviewer asked the nation's top diplomat why the administration has not imposed new sanctions on Moscow after Congress passed legislation previous year calling for such measures.

But some Democrats, including Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., have criticized Obama for not doing enough. "I'm sorry. Dead people generally vote for Democrats rather than Republicans", he said.
