PlayStation 4 firmware 5.50 beta released: Here's what's inside

Such is the case with the upcoming 5.50 firmware update (codenamed KEIJI).

Sony will also be using Update 5.50 to add some quick menu enhancements to the PS4 related to finding friends more easily in a "Friends" tab, and shortcuts for those using the system to play music. "In addition, the family manager/guardians can choose whether or not to automatically log the child out of their PS4 once their playtime is over". "Notifications will be sent to children during gameplay so that they know when they should save and quit", the blog post reads. In theory, this is also a way for adult gamers to control their own playtimes. The "This PS4" tab will list all the applications that are installed on the PS4 system. Seen in the image below, the Library will now be divided into "This PS4" and your PSN ID - this way, content is more easily divided and navigatable for those with a growing digital collection. The Library has now been divided into two different areas: One lets you see everything purchased on your account, as normal, while the other only displays what's currently installed on the console. Users can play these games again once they have re-subscribed to the service.

As requested, we're adding a function that will allow you to hide certain applications under the "Purchased" tab in the Library. So, you can hide betas, trials or demos you may not go back to.

With the launch of 5.50, you'll be able to access custom friends' lists directly from the Quick Menu.

Maldives crisis: India says it is disturbed by the declaration of emergency
He asked the USA to ensure that all American financial institutions stop all transactions of the Yameen regime's leaders. However, the Maldives Police Service has said that there was evidence that could implicate Saeed and Hameed.

It's not just a pretty face either, as Sony has revealed that while the new Gold Wireless Headset will be compatible with your PS4, and mobile devices, it will also be compatible for PSVR play!

With Background Music on PS Now, you'll be able to listen to your favorite tracks while streaming a game on PS Now. Music controls for Spotify, the media player and USB music player apps are coming to the quick menu. Oh well. There will always be another PS4 update!

Just go to Notifications and press the "triangle" or "OPTIONS" button to open up a menu that will allow you to select a single or multiple notifications you'd like to delete. If you want to create a PS4 background from your own images on a USB stick, you'll be able to do that now too.

Import your own images to the PS4 through a USB to use as a background image. Last but not least, there's a new option for tournament team pages that lets you customize logo and backgrounds as well as edit the profile of your team. With Supersampling Mode, PS4 Pro owners with 1080p (or lower) TVs can enjoy enhanced visuals. Reset Era has a list of games compiled that support supersampling. Xbox One added play limits a year ago with the Creators Update, and the Xbox One X hardware has been able to supersample games since last November. Let us know in the comments.
