Dark Souls remastered for Nintendo Switch console

The massively popular Dark Souls series is returning to alternatively frustrate and excite players with the newly-announced Dark Souls: Remastered edition, coming this May to PC via Steam.

As you may recall, the 2012 PC port of Dark Souls' original console variation was not optimised, and was described as "strictly a port from the console version" at the time.

Dark Souls, an intricate and arcane work of dark fantasy pits players against a world of demonic creatures, is widely regarded as one of the best video games of all time.

And there's a PlayStation 4 Dark Souls Trilogy Box that bundled the three games of the series together alongside lithographs, a statue and some book; it'll set buyers back am mighty £370.

Dark Souls: Remastered will feature visual enhancements and will include the Artorias of the Abyss expansion. The Dark Souls Item Encyclopedia comes at a B6 size and includes more than 1000 pages of information on items, gear, spells and other details from the three games.

Bandai Namco later in the day revealed that Dark Souls Remastered is also heading to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game was also confirmed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. So yeah, while this isn't a free upgrade, PC/Steam users will be able to acquire this remastered version of Dark Souls at a normal price. The game also doesn't explain where the player should go.

Nintendo's packing everything it can into the Switch re-release of the Zelda-themed brawler Hyrule Warriors.

There were a number of rumors going around that Dark Souls Remastered would be headed our way in the near future. As of yet, we do not know how that will be split between cooperators and invaders.
