Today, the Raiders made it official, announcing Jon Gruden as the next head coach.

The Buccaneers went 12-4 in his first season and finished 57-55 with three playoff appearances in Gruden's seven seasons.

He lost the special election to Democrat Doug Jones on December 12, turning Alabama blue from red for the first time in 25 years. Johnson alleges that as she was leaving the meeting Moore "grabbed my behind". "I was so humiliated and sickened", she said.

He last coached in the National Football League in the 2008 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cincinnati Bengals may have managed to retain their long-tenured head coach, Marvin Lewis, but they will soon be in the market for another defensive coordinator-not that that is a new phenomenon. Jim and John Harbaugh were active for four seasons from 2011-14 in San Francisco and Baltimore, respectively. He had a great reaction when he was asked about Gruden's new contract and was quick to mention that he had already discussed the deal with his own general manager, Bob Myers. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Raiders were not releasing the names of candidates. Gibbs returned to coaching in 2004 and his second stint in Washington wasn't almost as effective as his first. Late owner Al Davis hired Art Shell in 2006, 11 years after firing him the first time. More than a decade later, Shell's second stint with the franchise lasted one year and led to just two wins.

Other teams have also done it, with one of the most recent notable coaching hires being Joe Gibbs in Washington.
