Nintendo Switch officially now the fastest-selling video game console ever

In just ten months the Nintendo Switch has sold over 4.8 million units in North America, making it the fastest selling console in the region. It has been nearly 10 months since its launch and the sales of the console are still pretty good. The company has now increased its internal target for its first-year sales of the Switch to 16 million from 10 million.

In keeping with Nintendo tradition, the Nintendo Switch looked like a bit of a risk when it launched in March 2017. Within 10 months, 4.8 million Switch units were sold compared to the 4 million moved by the Wii. Also, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Odyssey is on over 55 percent of Switch consoles, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe all has an ownership rate of more than 50 percent.

The Nintendo Switch made lots of people happy.

The equaliser came from a knockdown from Oli McBurnie, and fellow substitutes Narsingh and Nathan Dyer combined for the victor . Watford then dominated proceedings and had a Molla Wague goal harshly ruled out for a slight shove on Tammy Abraham.

A console is only as good as the games that can be played on it and in the case of the Switch, there's an excellent library to choose from. Its innovative design allows it to function as both a TV console and a portable console. The detachable controllers allow two players to compete or collaborate without the need for additional hardware.

In the United States, over 60% of Switch owners have Super Mario Odyssey (which we called "one of Mario's finest adventures"), while more than 55% own The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, a reported delay in the manufacture of high-capacity Switch cartridges could restrict the flow of new games in 2018.
