For Amazon, this was a week of war and peace.
Starting Wednesday, Amazon Prime users will be able to more easily watch movies and TV shows directly on Apple TV, rather than using a workaround to mirror content from an iPhone or another Apple device via AirPlay.
"There is nothing that excites us more than delighting our customers, and we are thrilled for them to stream Prime Video on Apple TV", said Mark Eamer, Vice President of Prime Video. (With Fire TV and Apple TV, you can pair wireless headphones).
Indian troops martyr two youth, soldier killed in Qazigund attack
Terrorists attacked an army convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Qazigund before at least three of them took cover in a building. Meanwhile, people, mostly youths hit the streets, trying to disrupt the search operation in the area.
Apple and Amazon seem to have buried the hatchet, at least for the time being. Seeing it go will definitely be upsetting for most users, even more so when they realize that it's all because of petty competition between two billion-dollar companies.
Google's decision to withdraw support for Amazon's newish Echo Show device - the version of its voice-activated Echo range that has a screen - was actually announced back in September. The former uses search and other web services to sell ads, while the latter is an online retailer of goods and services.
"We've been trying to reach agreement with Amazon to give consumers access to each other's products and services". Apple TV is no longer an overpriced, under-featured alternative to the Chromecast Ultra, but a viable choice for anyone looking to expand into 4K and make the most of their existing hardware. And although Apple's services business is growing, it doesn't have much overlap with the core offerings of Google and Amazon. For streaming and downloading, the TV 4K has dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi connection, and there's also Bluetooth 5 for connection to the Siri remote.
Apple TV owners will have access to Amazon Original Movies and Prime Originals such as The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Tick along with the upcoming premieres of Jean-Claude Van Johnson on December 15 and Phillip K. Dick's Electric Dreams on January 12.
You can get access to Prime Video if you're a paid Amazon Prime member, buy Prime Video on its own, are now in a 30-day free trial of either Amazon Prime or Prime Video, a Prime Student member or any member of an Amazon Household with shared Prime benefits. You're paying for the experience - in particular, integration and syncing with other Apple gadgets.
