Apple Pay Cash rolls out to iOS 11.2 users in the US


It also offers new features for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

Apple Pay Cash requires iOS 11.2 and watchOS 4.2, on an iPhone SE, iPhone 6 or later, Apple Watch, iPad Pro, iPad (5th gen), iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. The company has just rolled out iOS 11.2 update for all compatible iPhone, iPad, iPod touch models.

To start with, the iOS 11.2 was scheduled for the for the Over-The-Air (OTA) update later this month, but the company made a decision to rush it out, to fix the bug which as continuously crashing/restarting the device after 12:15 AM on December 2.

With Apple Pay Cash, users can carry out person-to-person payments on iMessage with other Apple device owners, meaning they don't have to download a separate app to do so.

Venmo, Cash app, iPhone users might be off that permanently because Apple has pulled the lid off their cash sharing feature Apple Pay Cash. Considering Apple Pay was available for quite a while in the United States before the United Kingdom rollout, it's not likely to be imminent. If you don't have Apple Pay set up on your phone don't worry you can still receive cash from family or friends without having to install a new app or add a new card. From there, tap the "+" icon located on the upper right of the screen and then type in the word "it" into both the Phrase and Shortcut fields.

The Apple Pay Cash card is a virtual debit card that lives within the Apple Wallet app.

You also need to verify your identity. If you update your iPhone, you can now send cash through a text message. The process will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and last four digits of your social security number.

Enter an amount, and then choose whether you want to request or pay; you can then preview it before sending it out to your contact.

If you are stocking your Apple Pay Cash card with funds from a current debit account, there are no fees.

You can also invoke Siri and send money, by saying, "Send $10 to John". When users get paid, the money stays on the Apple Pay Cash card. You'll need to link it to a debit or credit card and then transfer money from one of those cards onto your Apple Pay Cash card.
