Vasco Da Gama Exp derailed in UP 3 killed, many injured


Summary: Three persons were killed and seven others got injured when thirteen coaches of Vasco Da Gama-Patna Express train derailed near Manikpur in Uttar Pradesh. The third person succumbed to his injuries later.One coach of the Patna-bound train derailed at the Manikpur station in Chitrakoot district at around 4.18 am. The mishap occurred near Manikpur Railway Station in Chitrakoot, UP. The Government Railway Police (GRP) Superintendent of Police (SP), Jhansi, said a fracture in the tracks could have led to the accident. Ashwani Lohani, railway board chairman, has been asked to rush to the spot,"said Anil Saxena, Railway spokesman while interacting with the NDTV". "Of those injured, two were serious and admitted to district hospital, Chitrakoot".

The train that was travelling from Goa to Patna derailed around 4.14 am.

On Thursday, a local train hit avehicle near Amethi in UP, killing four and injuring two, and agoods train jumped the rails between Goraknath and Raghunathpur in Odisha. As per the latest reports from the officials, total three people dead and nine people are injured in the train derailment.
