Rainbow Six Siege - Year 3 content revealed


The Outbreak mode will be free for all Rainbow Six Siege players when "Season 1" of Year Three launches.

Ubisoft writes that the full reveal of Operation Chimera and Outbreak will take place in Montreal at the Six Invitational 2018.

The Year 3 Season Pass will be available for purchase December 12. You can check out the Year 3 roadmap below. This upcoming year is set to include eight brand new operators, two new maps and an all new Outbreak event. In this new mode, which Ubisoft gave some brief details of in the panel just below, you'll be fighting against something you "might not totally expect" in the new co-op mode. In addition, season 3 will feature a reworked map with a new level design and art direction. For the first time in a Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy's position.

Season Two of year three will return to a more traditional form, with two new operators from Italy's GIS [Gruppo di Intervento Speciale] and a new map set in Italy. Finally, Season 4 will introduce two Moroccan Operators and a new map from the same region.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is still flourishing and growing, proving that innovative competitive multiplayer gameplay can grow and succeed without pay-to-win microtransactions or real-money loot boxes.

By launching timed events, Ubisoft could be testing the water to see how well a different-styled mode is received.
