Rampage movie trailer highlights an explosive concrete jungle

The studio is taking a short break from expanding their DC film universe in early 2018 to focus on their upcoming video game movie adaptations.

He punched an quake in San Andreas and KO'ed the ocean in Baywatch, so now Dwayne Johnson turns his attention to knocking out giant monster animals.

Rampage is directed by Brad Peyton and also stars Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. It is executive produced by Marcus Viscidi, Johnson, Dany Garcia, Jeff Fierson and Wendy Jacobson. The behind the scenes team includes director of photography Jaron Presant (2nd unit, Star Wars: The Last Jedi), production designer Barry Chusid (San Andreas), editor Jim May (Goosebumps), and costume designer Melissa Bruning (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).

The film will be released on April 20, 2018.

Johnson plays primatologist Davis Okoye, a man who generally shuns human friendship but has formed a powerful bond with an exceptionally intelligent silverback gorilla named George that he has cared for since birth. That is, of course, until a rogue genetic experiment causes George to mutate into a very big, King Kong-sized monster and start smashing things. On the other hand, the only thing that seems to make this movie any different than San Andreas is that it features giant animals.
