Argentina Friendly: Akpeyi starts, as Iheanacho, Iwobi lead Eagles' attack

The Confederation of African Football will meet soon to discuss a proposal for the African teams who have qualified for next year's World Cup finals to play friendlies during the FIFA internationals window in March, a Nigerian football official confirmed today.

Dario Benedetto replaced Aguero in the lineup, but Nigeria rallied with three second-half goals to win 4-2, handing Argentina their first friendly defeat since November 2014.

We prepared well for this game because playing Argentina is big for us, maybe it is different for them.

But the Super Eagles staged a superb come back which started just before the half time break as Kelechi Iheanacho scored from a free kick before Alex Iwobi's early second half goal levelled things up for the Gernot Rohr tutored side.

Ever Benega opened the scoring from a free kick to put Argentina ahead in the 27th minutes, before Manchester City Forward Sergio Agüero tapped home Pavó's cross to double the South American's lead nine minutes later.
