Evans ran up from behind and knocked over Saints rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore after a confrontation between Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, who was on the sideline because of a sore shoulder, and Lattimore.

Evans was not ejected for the hit, which you can see below.

At 6-2 after a 20-point rout of their division rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints can let their play do the talking atop the NFC South.

If the suspension stands, Evans will miss Sunday's game against the New York Jets and will be eligible to return to the Buccaneers' active roster on November 13. Coach Sean Payton was asked after the contest what should happen to Evans.

Asked to comment on what Evans did, Winston said, "Marshon Lattimore pushed his quarterback". When Lattimore went down, Evans then jumped on top of him and appeared to be trying to throw a punch before another Saints player shoved Evans off Lattimore.
