Stranger Things Star Busted for Cocaine, Denied Entry Into US

"Stranger Things" actor Charlie Heaton had to miss the show's USA premiere this week after he was allegedly caught with cocaine at Los Angeles International Airport.

The 23-year-old British actor, who plays Jonathan Byers on the hit Netflix show, was detained at Los Angeles International Airport on October 21, reports.

The entertainment trade newspaper said Heaton admitted to law enforcement officials he had consumed the drug.

According to TMZ, Heaton does not have a criminal history and was able to avoid being arrested. Drug sniffing dogs had apparently reacted to Heaton's belongings, which led to the search and subsequent trouble.

Jaime Ruiz, branch chief of strategic media engagement for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, had this to say about the incident.
