Metal Gear Survive and its ironic title will launch February 20

Metal Gear and the PES soccer series remain Konami's only active console game franchises.

Aside from the release date announcement, Konami is also announcing pre-order bonuses.

Metal Gear Survive will be released in North America on February 20, 2018 for the Xbox and PS4, Konami confirmed on Wednesday. The pre-order bonuses include gold-skinned version of four melee weapons-a baseball bat, sledgehammer, machete, and spear-and scarves in four colors. Players will take on the role of a soldier as they try to escape from this unusual dimension, scavenging materials to build weapons, gear, buildings and more along the way. While the main characters, most notably Big Boss and Kaz, evacuate the sinking Mother Base, a few soldiers are left behind in the crumbling debris.

It's safe to say that Konami created quite an uproar when they revealed Metal Gear Survive, as people around the world were already upset about how the company parted ways with Hideo Kojima, and announcing a new Metal Gear game shortly after didn't exactly make things better. However, a mysterious hole opens up in the sky and transports the survivors to a odd location.

The news comes directly from Konami's Twitter account and promises a simultaneous Xbox, PS4 and PC Steam release for $39.99 Dollars. Which apply to the digital as well as physical copies of the game.
