Recall on vegetables shipped to stores across US


Vegetable products from Trader Joe's and Archer Farms, a brand sold by Target, are among several brands included in a nationwide recall notice issued by Mann Packing of Salina, Calif.

People other than pregnant women: Symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions in addition to fever and muscle aches.

Walmart: 12-oz. bags of broccoli cauliflower florets, broccoli florets and stir fry medley are being recalled, along with 32-oz. bags of broccoli florets, 16-oz. bags of broccoli slaw, 10-ounce bags of cauliflower florets and super blend, 16-oz. bags of cauliflower and 2-lb. bags of vegetable medley. Chef. Go! seafood meal bags in clear cooking bag packaging with sell-by dates through October 22, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems are at the greatest risk of serious or possibly fatal infections from listeria, according to the FDA.

The Alaska Carrot products are Broccoli Crunch Kit, packed Oct. 20 to Oct. 27; Stir Fry Kit, use by Oct. 27; Broccoli Florette, use by Oct. 27; Veggie Medley, packed on Oct. 20, use by Oct. 29; Veggie Pack Combo, packed on Oct. 21, use by Oct. 30; Veggie Platter, packed on Oct. 20, use by Oct. 29; Veggie Tray with Dip, packed on Oct. 21, use by Oct. 30; and Veggie Tray with Cauliflower, use by Oct. 27.

The products were distributed with the "best if used by" dates of October 11-20, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration report.

Consumers who have bought any of the food should throw it away or return it to where they bought it for a full refund. The infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths and premature labor.
