Beckinsale said she left "uneasy but unscathed" after declining alcohol and saying she had school in the morning.

The Weinstein Company has launched an internal probe over sexual harassment claims against co-chairman Harvey Weinstein, confirming he has taken an "indefinite" leave of absence. About a week later she was told by a Weinstein assistant she didn't get the job because she was an actor.

The organisation have "informed" the disgraced producer - who was sacked from his own Weinstein Company earlier this week in the wake of a New York Times expose, which claimed he had sexually harassed a number of women over a 30-year period and paid off at least eight to keep their allegations quiet - of their decision and admitted they felt his alleged actions were "completely unacceptable and incompatible" with their own values.

British actress Romola Garai tells the Guardian that she felt "violated" when Weinstein auditioned her as an 18-year-old, saying that he had answered the door to his hotel room in a bathrobe.

We've seen jokes in 30 Rock and at Oscars announcements deal with misconduct on Weinstein's part, but the most direct reference came from an actual victim, Asia Argento. None had yet been found, but police say they encourage anyone with information on Weinstein to report it.

"A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting".

To address any lingering concern about Harvey Weinstein's behaviour, Maerov said he successfully pushed a new code of conduct at the company that included a detailed description of sexual harassment.

Police spokesman Peter Donald said Thursday that investigators are reviewing police files to see if any women previously reported being assaulted or harassed by the media mogul.

A law enforcement official says detectives also plan to contact women who spoke about their encounters with Weinstein in a New Yorker article this week. Maerov said, "Her name came up in 2015, but I don't remember who brought it up".

The actress is one of dozens of women accusing movie exec Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

"Guys, I'm not doing OK, but I'm trying", Weinstein told reporters on Wednesday as he entered an SUV parked outside his daughter's Los Angeles home. "Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance".

"Our thoughts go out to the victims, to those who have had the courage to testify and to all the others", Fremaux and Lescure said.

It appears The Weinstein Company was well aware of Harvey Weinstein's predatory ways as the independent film studio was alerted of a number of sexual harassment-related cash settlements during the disgraced producer's contract negotiations.
