Amazon Echo: Alexa Can Tell Voices Apart with Individual Voice Profiles

The Echo Show is powered by Alexa and will play the music you want from services like Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio, tell you the what the weather is like, and answer any questions you might have.

You can set up voice recognition using any Alexa device like an Echo or the Alexa app on your smartphone - or even a Fire TV with voice remote. Google Home allows multiple accounts to be linked and uses voice recognition to provide personalized responses for each end user.

Meanwhile, Amazon's Alexa gained the ability to recognize different people's voices, catching up to Google Home. The Amazon smart speaker can then perform relevant commands based on who spoke. The feature is being rolled out to the original Echo as well as the Echo Dot and Echo Show speakers. Interestingly, voice recognition is very efficient, it means when you will say "Call mom", it will call your mom, not your friend's.

AMAZON'S ALEXA VOICE ASSISTANT edged a step closer to Google Home this week with the rollout of support for multi-user voice profiles. Alexa is now able to recognize your voice for Flash Briefings and automatically skips stories you listened to from your feed. Then access Account Heading and finally, Your Voice. From there, your voice is stored in the cloud, meaning it will apply to all your Alexa enabled devices.
