Sherin Mathews is described as standing 3 " 0′ tall, weighing 22 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a pink top and black pajama bottoms.

As indicated by a Facebook post, she was most recently seen by her dad outside the family's terrace. She has limited verbal communication skills. According to the arrest warrant, Wesley Mathews said he directed his daughter to stand near a large tree at 3:00am when she didn't drink her milk. Wesley reportedly told police that he knew coyotes had been seen in the alley where he last saw her.

He waited about five hours before he reported the toddler missing, authorities say.

An Amber Alert was issued after the toddler went missing Saturday morning. She said CPS had been involved with the family before, but didn't elaborate on how. They towed in the family's two SUV and a minivan, in search "potential evidence". "I can't believe I have to do this right now", church member Joanna Cherian said. Sgt. Perlich indicated that police were trying to pick up Sherin's scent or locate items of her clothing - anything to suggest where she might have gone.

Wesley Mathews was released Sunday after posting $250,000 bond, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Mathews, who didn't report his daughter missing until 8 a.m., has been arrested and is charged with abandoning or endangering a child. He said, "God will reward you".
