Titans Will Struggle If Mariota Misses Time

Saturday night it was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Mariota is "not expected" to play in the game.

Earlier in the week, the Tennessee Titans chose to sign Brandon Weeden with Marcus Mariota nursing a hamstring injury. Mariota could be good to go as early as Week 6 if he's ultimately ruled inactive later today. Miami's rushing attack was once considered a strength, but they have produced just 88 yards on the ground in their last two contests. With Kaepernick, Reese says, teams will feel an obligation to "adjust the offense for him to give him a chance".

Colin Kaepernick remains a free agent even after yet another National Football League team found itself in need of a veteran quarterback, and the former general manager of that team is not surprised Kaepernick never received a call.

The Dolphins are just a makeable missed field goal away by the Chargers from being 0-3, and their two losses have been about as ugly as humanly possible.

Dolphins defensive tackle Jordan Phillips practiced all this week despite an ankle injury, but he will not play against the Titans on Sunday. Not only did Tennessee lose, they lost emphatically, allowing Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson to set any record he wanted to in a 57-14 curb stomp.

Ellsbury has batted.263 (5-19) in his career against Kluber, who went 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA in two starts against NY this season. Both Aaron Hicks and Gary Sanchez homered off Kluber, and NY entered the six inning leading 8-3, when the wheels came off.

Here are three reasons that the Titans can still manage a victory with Matt Cassel.

Everyone who thought that free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick would be a good fit for the Titans with less than a week of practice in their offensive system had a vast misunderstanding of what the Titans do on offense. If Miami could get him going again, it would mean that Jay Cutler would be able to work off play-action instead of having to carry the offense. Cassel won the only game he started in the season finale, but he was 4 of 10 for 21 yards with two interceptions in the second half of the loss to Houston. Reese said. "Brandon Weeden comes in here and knows what he has to do is he has to conform exactly to whatever it is they want".

The Dolphins play at Atlanta next Sunday. He wasn't Aaron Rodgers, but Cassel did what he needed to do for the Titans to win the game.

It's been less than four full games of Jay Cutler and Dolphins fans have already seen enough.
