Even though HTC's R&D division has been taken over by Google, the Taiwanese company has confirmed that it still has an R&D team that had designed the HTC U11 flagship phone. HTC is still working on new smartphones, despite the confusing Google buyout of some employees from its hardware department. The Ocean turned out to be the HTC U11, the Ocean Note became the HTC U Ultra and the Ocean Smart just didn't become a real product, as pointed out by the XDA Developers site.

Earlier smartphones like HTC 10, 10 Lifestyle or the recent HTC U11 doesn't have those attractive specifications which these days are in trend, here we are talking about the Dual-Camera, Bezel-less display, etc. HTC U11 has a handsome design but somehow is traditional means we have seen this type of construction on other devices as well. A recent leak by a French Android blog Frandroid, suggests this phone could go into manufacturing soon and make an appearance as early as November 11. The company has also said that it is working on its next flagship phone called HTC U11 Plus that will be arriving with a full screen design. The screen resolution is expected to be 1440×2880.

As noted, the U11 Plus will reportedly keep most of the performance specs and features of the standard model, among them a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC mated with 4GB/6GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

Also, similar to the HTC U11, the HTC U11 Plus will have the squeezable frame technology, aiding in better support of the Edge Sense feature. The frontside will be fitted with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The revolutionary HTC Edge Sense will still be in place for squeezing the hell out of the phone while the body will also be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance.
