New Apple Watch has cellular connectivity problems

The new Apple watch, the Apple Watch Series 3, has one exciting new feature, but some reviewers are having problems getting it to function properly.

The built-in cellular connection, a first for the Apple Watch, has been a major selling point for the Series 3.

The new Apple watch's ability to connect to LTE mobile networks on its own was supposed to make the device more useful when owners want to leave their phone at home, say while on a run or at the beach. A model of the Apple Watch Series 3 without LTE support will also begin shipping this week, with prices starting at $329. With a cellular or Wi-Fi connection, it can make/take calls, activate Siri, send texts and connect to the internet without pairing with an iPhone, as previous variants were required to.

"We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular", an Apple spokesperson told The Verge. The Verge is just one of the sites to report serious battery drain issues when using LTE.

The money in the store's cash register as well as the victim's purse and school materials appeared undisturbed. Investigators were also given handwritten document in which Schara admitted to the crimes.

Apple said Wednesday there is a problem in the Watch that will be fixed with an upcoming software patch. If you use Global Positioning System on your new Apple Watch or the headline feature - making calls - the battery takes a real hit. Though the Apple Watch 3 can only manage an hour of talk time, Apple is touting it as a way to maintain data and voice connectivity for short periods of time in situations not conducive to using a smartphone. The new Watch appeared to try to connect to unknown WiFi networks instead of connecting to cellular, when I was out and about without my phone. Users have reported problems sending messages from Miscosoft Outlook or Exchange accounts linked to iOS 11's Mail app. Users have been receiving "Cannot Send Mail" errors, and Apple has confirmed to 9to5Mac that it is "working closely with Microsoft" to fix the problem.

Analysts say iPhone 8 demand has been muted by Apple's premium iPhone X, which will arrive in stores on November 3 after a week of preorders starting October 27. The company is investigating the issue and will likely come out with a fix in a future software update.

If you've ever used or read up on LTE smartwatches, complaints about battery life are the norm. "People I called via the watch said I sounded great, and I could hear them loud and clear".
