Apple Redesigns TV Box With 4K Streaming

A new version of the Apple TV streaming device will be able to show video with sharper "4K" resolution and a color-improvement technology called high-dynamic range, or HDR. Internally, the Apple TV 4K will also be powered by the Apple A10X processor, which is also used in the iPad Pro.

Cue also mentioned the fact that Apple is driving towards the goal of offering live sports on the Apple TV, alongside on-demand 4K content from Apple, Netflix, and (in a few months) Amazon Prime.

Pre-orders for the new Apple TV 4K begin on September 15, with shipping slated to start on September 22. The new Apple TV 4K provides "stunning visuals" and will deliver "cinematic quality to virtually everything you watch".
