On Saturday afternoon, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that right-hander Jimmy Nelson will miss the remainder of the 2017 season after suffering a rotator cuff strain and partially torn anterior labrum in his right shoulder. Braun is 4-for-9 with a homer versus Montgomery, who is 1-3 with a 5.11 ERA in 10 outings (three starts) against the Cubs. Starting pitcher Chase Anderson contributed two runs of his own, while Jesus Aguilar added an RBI in the win for the Brew Crew.

With four doubles at Pittsburgh earlier this week, Kris Bryant became just the second third baseman all-time to record at least 60 extra-base hits in each of his three career Major League Baseball seasons (based on primary position in first three seasons). John Lackey was outstanding, allowing just the two-run home over seven innings.

The Chicago Cubs will look to salvage a win and avoid the sweep when they take the field on Sunday. Ben Zobrist went 2 for 4 while Alex Avila and Rob Zastryzny added a base hit each respectively in the losing effort. In his career, Hendricks is 6-3 with a 2.74 ERA and 68 strikeouts against Milwaukee. Nelson would pitch the bottom half of the frame but was ultimately replaced by reliever Josh Hader.

The loss marks the sixth time that the Brewers have beaten the Cubs by 10 or more runs in a game.

The North Siders are now 6-4 in their last ten games and 34-19 since the All-Star break.
