Microsoft to Publish PUBG on XBox One But What About PS4?

At their Gamescom media briefing, Microsoft announced a partnership with developer Bluehole to bring PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to Xbox One.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is PC Gaming's creme de la creme of 2017, soaring to the upper echelon of Steam's most played games. Starting with nothing, gamers must fight to locate weapons, vehicles and supplies as they strive to be the lone survivor.

The game - which is now in early access on PC - was revealed as a "console launch exclusive" for the Xbox One back at E3. Through this partnership, Microsoft will help accelerate console development and maintain quality across all platforms.

Chang Han Kim made the announcement but a lot of folks are sort of confused.

We have followed up with Bluehole in an attempt to get more details on the terms of PUBG's console exclusivity.

Though Battlegrounds' new map doesn't yet have a name, fans of the early access game will no doubt be pleased to see its developer moving away from the lone arena that has thus far been featured in the Battle Royale-esque game.

There's no word yet on whether there are plans to bring the map to the Xbox One at launch, with the game expected to release on Microsoft's console in late 2017. In stark contrast to the current map, Erangel, the main city of the desert map is full of buildings that are at least nine stories tall.

Look out for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds arriving on Xbox One later this year. Even more than they already do, I mean.
