First trailer for long-awaited Shenmue 3 pulls no punches (literally)

Unfortunately, those of you who were expecting to see something in the way of a story reveal are going to be disappointed. Today though, Ys Net has released the first teaser trailer for Shenmue III, showing off some scenery, fighting, and more.

While Shenmue III had a wildly successful Kickstarter over two years ago, information on the highly anticipated game has been scarce.

Sony has just updated their PlayStation Blog with some glorious looking in-game screenshots of Shenmue III and a note from Yu Suzuki, the director of Shenmue III. Did you know that the new game could introduce a major evolution in QTE? It could also be that developer Yu Suzuki and team are seeking to emulate the way the characters looked when they appeared on the Dreamcast. Granted the game is "in-development", but still.

Published by Deep Silver for PS4 and PC, Shenmue III has (at last) something for us to see.

To celebrate the news, I would like to share with you a teaser video built from a small slice of an in-development build of the game.

In the blog post, Suzuki said that, 'As you will see, the latest chapter in Ryo and Shenhua's journey begins with a handsome set piece in China. The game is still a year or so away from release and it's entirely possible that the characters' facial animation will be far superior when the game finally hits.
