Nigeria's president has returned to his country after more than three months in London being treated for a mystery illness.

Mrs. Amina Ali, a resident of Keffi, thanked God for protecting President Buhari and urged Nigerians to continue to pray for him to enable him deliver on his mandate.

His arrival was confirmed by his Special assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad shortly after Eagle One landed at the airport.

Adesina, who spoke with newsmen shortly after the President touched down in Abuja, said himself and some others knew days back that Buhari would return on Saturday (today).

Upon his return, president Buhari stated the possibility of returning to London for further treatment.

He was expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast on Monday.

Dressed in a dark kaftan and Muslim prayer hat, the 74-year-old Buhari walked unaided from his plane - holding rails on either side of him - after it landed at the worldwide airport in the capital, Abuja.

Nigeria's government has never said what exactly has been ailing the 74-year-old leader.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday granted audience to Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara who visited him at Abuja House in London. We hope this breach is addressed but if not, we'll go to sleep with the assurance that that was another rented crowd and the presidency just made a political statement with it.

He said the returned of president Buhari is a happy moment not for Nigerians alone, but for Africans.

Sen. Yusuf Yusuf said that the president's return called for celebration.
