The Spotify app is officially available on Xbox One


Simply play your music on demand with your Xbox One controller, whether you are a free or a Premium Spotify user.

"For some time now, Xbox gamers have been telling us that they'd like to be able to soundtrack their own gaming sessions using Spotify, to make every single session feel new and unique", Spotify's Platform and Partner Experience Product Director, Mikael Ericsson, wrote in a Tuesday Xbox Wire post.

On Xbox One, as you will see in the gallery images, it is a much cleaner interface focused on the music, playlists, and discovery features.

The Spotify app for the Xbox One will be available today for download from the Xbox Store; the app is already visible but some users are reporting that the download isn't live just yet.

Like the PS4 version, Spotify Connect will allow users to control music playback through their phones, tablet or laptop. Spotify's app offers access to its full catalogue of over 30 million songs.

Spotify should be available in 34 markets today on Xbox One, including the United Kingdom, U.S., Germany, and France. These blocks will change based on what you do, so if you put a specific game on your Home screen, it may display when your friends are playing that game, recommend which Achievement you should get next, etc.

Soundtracks are an integral part of the gaming experience that can significantly boost the level of immersion and overall enjoyment of a title.
